As I mentioned, I just got back from DC - a treasure trove of history to be found on every corner. Interestingly enough, many of the things I saw reminded me of the first two color trends from the Sherwin Williams ColorMix 2015.
The color palette of all the buildings in DC - from the White House and Capital to the Monuments and Memorials - is simplistic yet dramatic in its sameness. With the Chrysalis Trend
, think extreme monochromatic and tone-on-tone - beige, soft aquas, pale pinks, whites, ivories and chocolates. Big influencers of this ethereal color scheme include Jean Girel
, Yasuaki Onishi
, and Nao Tamura
Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum reminded me of the Voyage Trend
for 2015. Our odyssey into space revs up in the near future - watch for opportunities to fly to Jupiter (they can get you there, but not back so don't sign up too quickly!), live in a space colony and at the same time have it match the decor of our homes. This trend delves into the world of space but also the world of under water - think hotels below the sea. Big influencers of this color scheme, which is full of smokey greys, plums, amber, light blues, citrine and deep kelp greens, include Jason deCaires Taylor
, Marie Daage
, Adam Wallacavage
& JSPR Lighting
